The Alfa Romeo team has scored three points in the past two races in Canada and in Spain. Valtteri Bottas and Zhou Guanyu hope to continue the point scoring series at the Austrian GP. It is exciting in the midfield, which means a lot is possible.

Bottas wants to continue Alfa Romeo points series

At the same time, mistakes also lurk. The margins are small so a tenth during qualifying can make a big difference. Alfa Romeo is currently seventh in the championship with nine points. McLaren is P8 with 17 points, but big points need to be taken to challenge that team.

Bottas looks ahead to the Austrian GP weekend: "The top ten finish the team achieved in Canada made us even more motivated. Our objective is to keep up with our
good form and extend our points streak. Throughout my career, I have always enjoyed racing here in Spielberg: I have scored some good results here – including my  first podium and two wins."

Zhou relies on upgrade package

There is a sprint race this weekend, which means there is a lot of action on the track and also more points to be earned. Mistakes can therefore have bigger consequences, but if Alfa Romeo's upgrades also cooperate well again in Austria then there is actually a lot to gain.

Zhou also looks ahead to the upcoming GP: " There are still several races to go, and plenty of points within our grasp if we keep making progress. The upgrade package we have introduced a few races ago is making a difference [...] We know how just a tenth could make a great difference in qualifying: during a Sprint weekend, this is even more significant."
