Perez back on F1 paddock: Mexican will just be in action in Austria
- Toby McLuskie
Sergio Perez is present on the F1 paddock and will therefore be in action as normal at the Austrian Grand Prix. The Mexican was absent due to illness on Thursday but is now fit enough to drive free practice and qualifying again.
Perez back at the Red Bull Ring
On Thursday, Perez skipped media commitments. According to the team, Max Verstappen's teammate was ill and was therefore kept in the hotel to recover. The 32-year-old driver seems to have recovered from his illness on Friday morning, as he was spotted at the F1 paddock in Spielberg.
It is just as well, as Perez has a tough weekend ahead of him in Austria, where an important session is immediately scheduled with qualifying on Friday. So Perez will have to show himself to avoid failing to appear in Q3 for a fourth time in a row. The Mexican himself still has hopes of a world title, but can hardly lose points to Verstappen for that.
