Vasseur satisfied after Austria GP: 'But we want to battle with Verstappen'
Ferrari had a good weekend in Austria. While Carlos Sainz was on the podium in the sprint race on Saturday, Leclerc was on the podium in the main race on Sunday. Team boss Fred Vasseur sees progress in his team's performance, speaking to Sky Sports UK post-race.
"We had a strong qualifying on Friday, the race in Canada was good, and we confirmed today that we can also perform on other circuits too. Now, we have to make another step if we want to fight with Max, but we are pushing for this," the Ferrari team boss told us.
'Think we are doing well'
However, Vasseur thinks it is too early to compete with Max Verstappen already at the next race weekend at Silverstone: "I am sure that they will develop and they will bring some updates at the next couple of events, and we will do the same. But no, I think it will be a long one until the end of the season. It is very close because today the gap was two or three-tenths a lap, but we have to keep this momentum and this pace because I think we are doing a good job."
