Is Aston Martin losing ground? Alonso: 'We shouldn't worry'
Fernando Alonso finished fifth in his Aston Martin at the Austrian Grand Prix. With a further 83(!) penalties handed out after the race, the Spaniard was able to move up another place. Aston Martin seems to be overtaken by other teams more and more, with Alonso explaining why.
"It was a little bit of a circuit, a bit of upgrades that everyone else brought here. But yeah, we should not be too worried. We have another opportunity next week," the 41-year-old Formula One driver told Sky Sports UK after last Sunday's race.
Alonso at Silverstone
Will the Grand Prix at Silverstone suit Aston Martin's car better? Alonso this so: "I think we should be okay in Silverstone. It’s an incredible track to drive with the fast corners. We race at home, the factory is just 50 meters away, so we will give it our all."
Alonso is currently third in the World Championship. The gap between him and number two Sergio Perez widened somewhat after the Austrian Grand Prix. It was initially nine points, but that has increased to a gap of 17 points, but Alonso will get another chance to get closer to Perez at Silverstone this weekend.
