Leclerc warns competition: 'Determined and we are trying to win'
Charles Leclerc achieved a podium finish at the Austrian Grand Prix as the Monegasque driver finished second between Red Bull drivers Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez. The Ferrari driver was very appreciative of the motivation and team spirit within the team from Maranello, which he explained in a press conference after the race.
"I think I'm always motivated, especially after weekends like this, where you finally see a bit more potential of fighting in the front. It feels good, of course. In terms of the championship, I think it's going to be difficult to go and win this championship. But on the other hand, there's still plenty to work on," Leclerc said.
Leclerc and Ferrari eager
Thanks to the race in Austria, Ferrari added quite a few points to their tally. Red Bull Racing are seemingly too far away, but Ferarri are not as far away as they once were. That is also what Leclerc thinks, and earning a win will help considerably close the gap, which the 25-year-old driver knows.
"I'm already looking forward to Silverstone. It's a very different track. And again, the team has done an incredible job. So I think we are all flat out to try and be back winning as soon as possible. Even though we have 150 whatever points behind, a win will feel nice. And we are all working towards that target."
