Wolff: 'We owe Hamilton an eighth world championship'
Toto Wolff believes Lewis Hamilton is the most important personality in Formula 1, he explained to Sky Sports News. The Austrian says the Briton is not only brilliant on the track but also for his constant work and drive to improve diversity within the premier class of motorsport, with Stefano Domenicali also agreeing with Wolff about Hamilton's personality.
"Hamilton is clearly the most important personality in our sport. He is so multi-dimensional. He is not only a racing driver and world champion, but he is trailblazing for diversity, for sustainability, and there are no limits for Lewis Hamilton as a racing driver, as an entrepreneur, and as a politician. I think he is one of the most spectacular personalities and characters that I have ever met," Wolff said.
Hamilton has the best personality?
"I would say more short-term I would love to see Lewis still fighting on the track, but I agree with Ttot that he is an incredible personality. He has shown that he has raised the bar of interest in a lot of topics," Domenicali said.
The Mercedes team boss knows the team has not given Hamilton something he had hoped for. " We owe him an eighth world championship," Wolff concluded while standing in front of 10 Downing Street in London.
