Council of State decides: Dutch GP can definitely continue
- GPblog.com
The Council of State, the highest administrative judge in the Netherlands, has given the green light for the Dutch Grand Prix and all activities around it. Several nature and environmental organizations had objected to the permits issued by the province of Noord-Holland for the race in Zandvoort, but that objection was rejected. Nothing stands in the way of a grand prix and other races at the Circuit Zandvoort anymore.
Nitrogen in nature reserve
According to nature and environmental organizations, too much nitrogen would descend in nearby nature reserves during the races. The Council of State (RvS) rules that the permits have been rightly issued. According to the RvS, due to an amendment to the law in 2020, the circuit no longer needed a nature permit at all. The RvS also allows work to be carried out on the circuit.
The Dutch Grand Prix will take place at the end of August. Here Max Verstappen and Nyck de Vries will be in action to show their best side for the Dutch racing fans. The previous two editions of the Grand Prix, which will be held for the third time since returning in 2021 this year, were both won by Verstappen.
