Red Bull Racing reserve driver Daniel Ricciardo has said he would not mind being back on the grid next season. The good-humoured Australian recently said it would be a dream come true to end his career with the team of Christian Horner, Helmut Marko and Max Verstappen.
Speaking to Crash.net, Ricciardo said of a possible switch to AlphaTauri. "I remain open-minded. But if there is the opportunity to be here [Red Bull]... The truth is that this is where I want to be [at Red Bull]. I'm not going to beat around the bush," Ricciardo said.
Ricciardo at AlphaTauri or Red Bull?
Asked how long he is willing to wait on the sidelines of Formula 1, Ricciardo replied, "I would love to be back on the grid next year." Ricciardo took seven of his eight victories with Red Bull Racing between 2014 and 2018.
"If it doesn't work out the way I would like and I'm back on the sidelines next year, that's not my Plan A, but I wouldn't go completely crazy," concluded the 34-year-old Red Bull reserve driver.
