The McLaren driver impressed by not only defending his second place with verve against Lewis Hamilton's attacks, but also by taking the lead away from Max Verstappen at the start. Rookie Oscar Piastri also drove an impressive race, but he lost a possible podium spot to Hamilton after service pit stops.
Verstappen took victory at Silverstone, but Norris is seen by many as the moral winner of the race, which was also a home race for both himself and McLaren. Is Norris' impressive performance enough to also be named the 'GPblog Driver of the Day'?
