Horner after British GP: 'Russell changed our strategy'

Red Bull Racing team boss Christian Horner saw Max Verstappen win at the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. The British team boss also saw how close the McLaren drivers were this weekend. Speaking to GPblog, Horner talks about the competition Verstappen faced during the race.
"They had great pace today and Lando had a really good start," Horner said of both McLaren drivers. " Max managed to stay inside the DRS, was able to pass Lando and then it was difficult to break that DRS effect, but once he managed to do that, he was able to build up a lead that I think at one point was up to about 9 seconds," the team boss added.
Red Bull's strategy at the hands of Russell?
"We originally expected it to be a race with medium and hard tyres, but due to George Russell 's performance on the soft tyre, our strategy changed," Horner told reporters after the race.
After the rolling resumption of the race at Silverstone, Verstappen immediately managed to create a sizeable gap. "He was close to 2 seconds ahead, and then it was a question of managing the race thereafter, so phenomenal performance from him today, fastest lap as well, so he got the hand trick." the Briton explained.
