Aston Martin remains confident despite loss in performance

The Aston Martin team started the season incredibly strongly and seemed to be the clear number two behind Red Bull. The last few races seem to have turned the tide somewhat. Mercedes, Ferrari and even McLaren seem to have gained speed over the British. Team boss Mike Krack is not too worried.
"We need to not get deviated too much by single events," the Luxembourger argues. According to Krack, the outside world and the team itself will have to wait for a few more races to make an honest assessment of exactly where Aston Martin stands. "Before the shutdown, we can have a better representation of where we are. This, I think, will allow us to define from the race expectation where we have to go."
Aston Martin better on 'high downforce' circuits?
According to the team boss, one should not lose sight of the fact that it will be driven on many different circuits. "We have a lot of races coming that are very different characteristics to the previous ones." Krack points out that at the beginning of the season, most of the racing was on 'low downforce' circuits, tracks with lots of straights and fewer slow corners. "There are more races to come where maybe we can be better," the Aston Martin man argues.
If Krack's story is true, Aston Martin will have a better showing in Hungary next week. The Hungaroring is a twisty track and is often compared to circuits like Monaco because of the downforce it requires.
