F1 stars Hayes and Pearce still in action in Hungary and Belgium
- GPblog.com
Good news for fans of Sonny Hayes and Joshua Pearce: the two APXGP drivers can also be seen in Hungary and Belgium (and probably the Netherlands). This is because the filming of the Formula 1 film featuring the characters Hayes and Pearce will continue as usual. Hayes will be played by Brad Pitt. His counterpart is Damson Idris.
Earlier, it was revealed via US media that filming had been halted because of the actors' strike. Indeed, Brad Pitt was said to be a loyal member of the union and, therefore - like a lot of colleagues working in Hollywood - had stopped work. However, Pitt - who was an attentive spectator of the Wimbledon final between Alcaraz and Djokovic in London last weekend - also realised that postponing filming would jeopardise the film. GPblog has learnt that filming will continue.
Hamilton driving force behind F1 film
The project of (among others) producer Lewis Hamilton depends on the Grands Prix, where a significant part of the footage is shot. Obviously, the races will not be cancelled, and it is undoubtedly difficult and expensive to turn the original shooting schedule upside down.
Many fans are already eagerly awaiting the film, currently named Apex. It is still unclear when the premiere will be. It is known, however, that Pitt plays an ageing driver (Sonny Hayes), who comes out of retirement to mentor young talent Joshua Pearce (played by Damson Idris) in Formula 1.
