Hamilton left it all on track: 'I gave it everything in the last run!'

Lewis Hamilton was shouting so much to his team after claiming pole position, that he lost his voice for the post-qualifying interview, however, that didn't stop him from singing his praises for the team following the great result.
"It's been a crazy year and a half, I've lost my voice! It's amazing," Hamilton told Danica Patrick in the pit lane after qualifying, "I feel so grateful to be out there because the team have worked so hard. We've been pushing so hard to get this pole, it feels like the first time."
The Brit went on to explain how he left everything on track, but it couldn't be possible if it wasn't for the work the Mercedes team has put in to bring the fight to Red Bull, he said: "Wow, I didn't expect today that we'll be fighting for pole. I gave it everything in the last run, there was nothing left in it [the car]. It's been massively challenging for everyone in the team, a big rollercoaster ride.
"Nobody has lost faith, we've united together and focused on steering the car in the right direction. We were losing so much time in turns 4 and 11 compared to the others. I just sent it and hoped I stayed on track. It's been tough and will continue to be tough."
Mercedes pushing in the right direction
To finish, Hamilton explained that he believes the team can continue to push on for the rest of the season and fight for more strong results: "Pole position shows we are on the right track and shows we can do it if we keep pushing. [There is a] big difference in balance but all the tyres felt good and at the end, the soft tyre felt extraordinary!"
