Marko on speculation of resignation: 'I don't know where that came from'
Helmut Marko is Red Bull Racing's well-known top advisor. He gave Max Verstappen a chance with the Toro Rosso team when he was seventeen. Marko is now eighty, and there is increasing speculation about when the Austrian will retire. Helmut Marko responds to those speculations opposite of Sky Sports.
He has been Red Bull's advisor since 2005. He brought talents like Sebastian Vettel, Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen to the team. The Austrian himself is known as someone who gives few chances. In 2016, he replaced Daniil Kvyat for Max Verstappen mid-season. This season too, a driver was thrown out of the Red Bull teams. Nyck de Vries was replaced by Daniel Ricciardo last weekend.
Marko responds to speculation
Marko himself knows nothing of the speculation about a possible dismissal: "My plan is to continue at least until next year, my contract runs until 2024. I don't know where that comes from."
