Red Bull brought last major upgrade in Hungary: 'Have to make choices'
Red Bull Racing arrived in Hungary with a major upgrade for the RB19. The car's sidepods had visibly changed. In qualifying this did not seem to do much good, but in the race it became clear that the RB19 is still the best car. Christian Horner does say that this is the last real update for the car.
Red Bull is dominant in 2023
Red Bull's dominance in 2023 is unprecedented. On Sunday in Hungary, the Austrian team broke the record for most consecutive wins. That stands after the race at the Hungaroring in Red Bull's name with 12, previously McLaren was the record holder with 11. For now, there seems to be no end in sight to the winning streak of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez's team, as Verstappen also won in Hungary with a huge lead.
Few more updates for RB19
The updates in Hungary on Saturday seemed to perhaps work against the RB19. Verstappen was totally unhappy with the balance of his car and consequently lost the battle for pole position with Lewis Hamilton. On Sunday, however, it was the opposite world, here the Dutchman called his car a rocket. Horner indicated that due to the limited wind tunnel time, the Red Bull car will not get very much faster anymore.
"There are circuit-specific bits and pieces like Monza and Singapore. With the limitation of wind tunnel time, we have to make our choices. Of course, we are putting a lot of focus into next year now to make sure that we don’t fall behind. McLaren have made a big step, we are expecting the others to do it later in the year as well with the limitations we have," the team boss told Sky Sports.
