Vandoorne in action for Aston Martin F1 at Spa-Francorchamps
Stoffel Vandoorne is a test and reserve driver with the Aston Martin team this season, but the Belgian has yet to make his first metres in the car. That will finally happen after the Belgian Grand Prix. For the British team, the (currently) reigning Formula E champion will take part in the next Pirelli test. It will take place on 1 and 2 August at Spa.
On X, Vandoorne reacted enthusiastically to his upcoming test. He writes: "Can't wait to drive an F1 car again! It's been a while." In a second post, the Belgian writes: "AND I'M DRIVING IT ON MY HOME TRACK!!!!"

McLaren also in action for Pirelli
Felipe Drugovich is also a test driver with the team of regular drivers Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll. The Brazilian drove the Aston Martin during the official pre-season tests. The current Formula 2 champion will therefore not be in action at Spa. It is possible Stroll will drive laps during the test, but Aston Martin has not (yet) given a definite answer on that.
Besides Aston Martin, McLaren is also present during the Pirelli test. As reserve driver Alex Palou wants to fully focus on the remainder of the IndyCar season, Lando Norris and/or Oscar Piastri are likely to be in action on behalf of the English team after the Belgian GP.
