Ferrari sets sights on Belgium: 'Willing to take risks'

The Hungarian Grand Prix was nothing special for Ferrari drivers Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc. They drove their SF-23 to a rather colourless seventh and eighth place, but hope to perform better than that at the weekend in Belgium. Frederic Vasseur sees two talented drivers who need to be given the right cars, he explains in Ferrari' s preview of the Spa Grand Prix.
"During the last two races, we have not been able to fully exploit the potential of the SF-23 because we were too cautious and made too many mistakes. Therefore, our goal for the Belgian Grand Prix, at one of the most beautiful venues in Formula 1, is to return to the path we started in Canada," Ferrari team boss Vasseur said.

"So in Belgium and the rest of the season, we have to concentrate to the maximum and be prepared to take risks," he adds. "Charles and Carlos are two of the best drivers on the grid, but we have to give them the right tools with which to express their talent. Behind Red Bull, it’s all extremely close with five teams battling it out to the nearest thousandths at every race," he concludes.
The Italian Scuderia is currently fourth in the constructors' championship. As Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll's Aston Martin seems to be a bit stagnant in terms of development, Ferrari may soon be able to pass the English team in the rankings.
