During the podium ceremony of the Hungarian Grand Prix, Max Verstappen's very expensive winner's trophy broke. Second-placed Lando Norris performed a trick with his champagne bottle, after which the winner's china fell off the podium. In an interview with Österreich24, Red Bull Racing advisor and also art lover Helmut Marko looks back on this remarkable incident with a wink.

Asked by OE24 whether Marko found the incident as funny as the drivers on the podium, he responded wittily: "Hungarians are known for their love of precious porcelain. Even at the time I raced, they had beautiful bowls and vases. A copy of the cup will be in our factory, and I will teach Max to appreciate the original. This is Hungarian tradition, the younger ones among us don't understand that yet!"

Max Verstappen's winner's trophy was a handmade piece made of porcelain. The value of the trophy was around €40,000 and was specially made by Herendi for the Hungarian Grand Prix. Speaking to GPblog, the maker revealed earlier this week that Verstappen will get a new trophy. The teams of Verstappen and Norris may decide among themselves who will pay for the costs.
