The managerial changes at Alpine have elicited reactions not only from the French formation itself, but Red Bull team boss Christian Horner has also given his findings on former Alpine sporting director Alan Permane. Horner said this in front of GPblog.

Horner starts by praising Permane: "Hugely competent guy. I doubt he's going to be unemployed for too long but just hats off to what he's done with that team, particularly one has to look at the difficult periods through when they were looking at insolvency and the issues with shareholders and the transfer for all the team."

The British team boss of Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez doubts that Alpine can replace the Briton quickly: "That's when the team needs clear guidance and leadership and mainstays and I think I was particularly impressed at that point in time that he was a solid pillar. So, best of luck for him for the future."

At the Hungarian Grand Prix, Alpine drivers Pierre Gasly and Esteban Ocon failed to finish. Both drivers had problems and had to abandon the race early. This weekend in Belgium, they will get another chance to give Alpine points.
