In the final Formula E race weekend, Briton Jake Dennis captured the championship. Although Mitch Evans won the race in the streets of London, Jake Dennis had enough of a second-place finish to run away with the championship in Formula E.

The title race in Formula E could still go either way before this weekend. Entering the race weekend in London, as many as four drivers still had a chance of winning the championship. Besides Dennis, there were still possibilities for Mitch Evans, Nick Cassidy and Pascal Wehrlein. In an event-packed race, Jake Dennis, driving for Avalanche Andretti, eventually managed to grab enough points to decide the title fight before the final race on Sunday.

On lap 34, Nissan driver Norman Nato caused a chain collision and a red flag situation. After the race was released with three laps to go, Jake Dennis only had to briefly hold his second place. Therefore, with 213 points for Jake Dennis against 176 points for closest rival Mitch Evans, the title fight was over at the fall of the finishing flag.
