Max Verstappen is looking forward to the Belgian Grand Prix. The Dutchman starts from P6 after receiving a grid penalty for once again fitting a new gearbox. The two-time world champion does see some dangers lurking, he told the Driver Parade at Spa.

The Red Bull driver still captured pole position on Friday afternoon but will have to start his race from P6 due to the grid penalty. That could still pose some risks, as the Dutchman could find himself in crowds on the first lap. "We have to keep it clean on the first lap, which is always tricky here at Spa," said Verstappen. It would certainly not be the first time drivers have clashed en masse during the race start in the Ardennes.

Verstappen watching the weather

But that is not the only thing Verstappen is watching with half an eye. The weather is also a factor. "It's a difficult day in terms of weather," he says. After all, rain is definitely not out of the question. Nevertheless, Verstappen starts the Grand Prix with confidence: "If we survive the first lap or have clean air, I think we have a very good race car."
