Verstappen ponders best race 2023: 'I really liked that one'
- Sam Godber
Red Bull Racing has won all 12 races of 2023 so far. Max Verstappen won 10 of those 12. Every race he was on the podium. For him, picking the best race is almost equivalent to picking the best win. After the Belgium GP, the Dutchman made an attempt to pick a race.
Verstappen won the Belgian GP from P6 and with a 22-second lead. Afterwards, he was asked to look back on the first half of the 2023 F1 season. After all, the summer break has officially arrived. The question was extended and Verstappen had to name the best win of this season. The two-time F1 champion clearly found that difficult.
Verstappen tries to choose anyway
Verstappen: "It's difficult to choose. I mean, there have been a lot of nice ones, some of it more straightforward. I think the one actually which I really enjoyed was, like back in time also, Miami. It's a tough track also to get through the field. But we managed, I think, that whole race quite well after, of course, the tough qualifying. So probably, yeah, for me, that was a very enjoyable one.."
Verstappen still doesn't think the answer can be brought to just one race and continued: "But honestly, also today, the last one in Hungary, you know, there are a lot of nice ones. I think also throughout the first part of the season, we have improved as a team. And also from my side, I feel more comfortable in the car. And it's all about little details. So a lot of, yeah, enjoyable moments. It's tough to pick one."
