Wolff fed up after elbow fracture: 'I didn't want to listen'
- Ludo van Denderen
A little bit of luck for Toto Wolff: his elbow fracture is not complicated. Although the Mercedes team boss is in plaster after his cycling accident, the fracture is expected to heal well and quickly. Wolff is fed up with the injury, however. He had imagined his holiday quite differently.
Bild visited the unfortunate Austrian at his holiday address in the mountains. Always, the Wolff family's holidays are full of sports activities, such as karting, snowboarding and thus mountain biking. The latter he also did during his accident. "[My wife] Susie said it was too steep to cycle down, but I decided not to listen to her. And Jack followed me," says Wolff, referring to his six-year-old son. The latter arrived at the bottom without problems, Toto had his stubbornness resulting in a a big smash.
It was eventually Susie Wolff, currently in charge of the female racing series F1 Academy, who told via Instagram that Toto had been injured. She posted a message last week, with a picture of her husband whose left arm was completely in a cast.
History repeated itself for Wolff
Incidentally, it was not the first time Toto Wolff had a crash during cycling. During a team outing in 2014, he sustained multiple fractures in a fall. So this time, the Austrian got off a lot better.
