Vasseur: 'Comparing Hamilton to Sainz and Leclerc makes no sense'
Ferrari team boss Frederic Vasseur is close to seven-time F1 champion Lewis Hamilton. The Italian says the media is quick to sensationalise that there is just a good friendship between the team boss and the driver.
Hamilton and Vasseur just good friends
Hamilton and Vasseur know each other well from the Mercedes driver's F3 and F2 years. Hamilton then drove with Vasseur's ART team, and together, they became champions. With Hamilton being linked in the rumour mill with a seat at the Scuderia, the talks and meetings between the two seem to have an interesting background.
Vasseur reveals to Gazzetta dello Sport: "I talk to him every Grand Prix. He drove for me 20 years ago, and we are still very close. Of course, the media makes a fuss when they see us together. The relationship has just remained good." Finally, Vasseur says: "It would make no sense to compare Hamilton to our current drivers." Vasseur says any top driver like Hamilton, Max Verstappen and Charles Leclerc is evenly passionate.
