Verstappen won't look back at Abu Dhabi '21: 'Know I won'
Every Formula One fan remembers the images of the 2021 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. The world championship within the king class of motorsport was eventually won by Dutch driver Max Verstappen. The reigning world champion himself says he does not look back at the season decider in Abu Dhabi.
Does Verstappen still look back at his race in Abu Dhabi?
"No, I don't watch that back. I know I won. Usually it's friends who enjoy watching that back again," Verstappen told De Telegraaf in an interview . "I don't have much to do with it now. Maybe later, when I have stopped. In the months after that race in Abu Dhabi, I did look back a bit, but at some point I only look forward," the two-time world champion continued.
"This season it might all look easy for the viewer, but then I am completely in that focus and am only concerned with the next race," Verstappen said. The 25-year-old world champion has a 125-point lead over teammate and rival Sergio Perez in the current Formula 1 season.
