Albon looks forward to Zandvoort: 'Very fun track to drive'
This weekend marks the end of the summer break after almost four weeks. The Formula 1 drivers will start the second half of the season at Circuit Zandvoort, which Alexander Albon says is immediately a tremendously intense circuit.
Zandvoort an intense circuit
Circuit Zandvoort is an 'old school' Formula 1 circuit with few exit lanes and Albon knows that too. "It's been nice to have the summer break but I'm looking forward to getting back into the season. Zandvoort is quite an intense race to return to, being quite a tricky and technical circuit with not much room for error, however it's still a very fun track to drive, so I'm looking forward to it," said the Williams driver in a press release from his team.
The track through the dunes contains many corners and few long straights, which does anything but promote overtaking. "Qualifying is going to be more important than the race I think, as overtaking is quite difficult around there. It's always fun going to Zandvoort as the fans have a lot of energy so it makes for a good atmosphere."
Sargeant sees great fans at Zandvoort
Logan Sargeant scored no points in the first half of the season in his debut season in Formula 1, and hopes to be competitive right away at Zandvoort. "I'm so excited to be getting back in the car this weekend. Zandvoort is great track with a great atmosphere thanks to the fans. Hopefully we can hit the ground running coming off of the summer break."
