Alexander Albon is the bright spot at Williams. The British team achieved 11 points so far, and those points were all scored by the British-Thai driver. Albon says he is enjoying his time with the team.

Williams have made a clear step forward since last season. More points have already been scored in the first half of the 2023 season than in the entire 2022 season. With 10 races to go, it also looks like the racing team will not finish last this year.

Albon on helping develop Williams

Albon was a test driver for Red Bull Racing in 2021. When asked by GPblog about what the British-Thai's role has been for the development of the 2024 car, Albon replied, "Yeah, it's more, we've had a characteristic trait in our car for quite a few years now, pre me joining the team. And it gets repetitive when we talk about the car. Because at the end of the day, we keep saying the same things, the same limitations. And so my role more for next year is how much of a step can we make? And can we fix all of it?"

"I don't think we can. But how much of a step can we do? And purely speaking, that's one of my biggest roles. Downforce is not really my area because at the end of the day, I don't know how to add downforce to the car. But I can tell the team where does the car feel limited by balance. Where are areas I feel like the car is limiting me to be matching cars around us. Or just purely where are we compromised in balance?" Albon continued.

Albon: 'Feels like we are making progress'

GPblog also asked the British-Thai driver about how he felt in the role: "I enjoy it. I enjoy being at the team. It's just part of the job at the same time. I'm very motivated and I want this team to make big steps forward. So stuff like that actually excites me when I was saying it before. But when we are trying to find solutions for next year and going through different options, I find those days enjoyable. It feels like we are making inroads and we are pushing towards next year."
