Perez: 'We made improvements to feel more comfortable'
- Cas van de Kleut
Sergio Perez does not always have an easy time as Max Verstappen's teammate. The Mexican started the season well but then achieved some lesser results. During a media moment attended by GPblog, the Red Bull driver said he is struggling to adapt to the car.
Despite Perez being second in the championship, there could have been more in it. The Mexican started the season well, taking two wins in the first four races. Then he missed Q3 five times in a row, nor did he grab a podium every weekend in the RB19.
Perez struggling to adapt to Red Bull
Perez himself says he is finding it difficult to adapt to the car: "It's not easy. Not easy because with the amount of practice we have, you kind of follow one direction or the other and then you get stuck with it for the rest of the weekend. So it is not an easy situation for a driver to have."
In 2022, Perez also started the season well, and then too, as the car developed, the Mexican's performance became less and less. "I think we have understood a lot of things, especially on the development side, how we can figure out. The team really knows what I really like and where I do feel more comfortable at. We've done some improvements during the summer break to try to make me feel more comfortable. So hopefully this second half of the season we can show a good improvement."
