Max Verstappen convincingly took pole position for the Dutch Grand Prix. For a while, it looked like Lando Norris would be the fastest, but on the all-decisive final lap, Verstappen ended up more than half a second ahead of the McLaren driver. Still, Norris does not think Verstappen is unbeatable.

Verstappen makes no mistakes

At the press conference, Norris was asked if it feels like Verstappen is unbeatable. "I'll say no, just because there have been times when we've been very close. There's been plenty of times it's been super, super close, whether Max has made a mistake or not," Norris replied. For example, Verstappen made a mistake in the final part of qualifying in Miami, and in qualifying in Hungary, without a mistake from the Dutchman, it was very close.

McLaren hopeless in the race

In qualifying, it is often fairly exciting, but in the race, it is a different story, according to Norris. "There are two differences, whether it's qualifying or the race. I think in the race at the minute, we've kind of got no chance unless someone gets unlucky, and, or he [Verstappen] gets unlucky, and something happens."

"Just got a very good driver in a good car, and he's doing the job he needs to do, so I think it's full respect to that, but I wouldn't say no, because there's always a chance, like on a day like today [Saturday], when he can make a mistake, and sadly he doesn't, but it can happen, it happens to everyone, and it can still happen to him, so there's a time and a place, and we're still waiting, everyone's still waiting for it to happen."
