Verstappen and Norris in one team? 'I'm definitely open to that'
- Toby McLuskie
Max Verstappen and Lando Norris are, as we know, good friends. The Dutchman races for the Red Bull Racing team and Norris drives for the McLaren team. Verstappen said earlier that he can well imagine the two friends one day driving for the same team, and the Briton is also keen on the idea.
Norris open to working with Verstappen
On Thursday in Monza during the Italian Grand Prix weekend, Norris was asked about a possible collaboration with the Dutchman for a Formula One team. "It's definitely something I would be open to in the future. I think I can happily say that Max is probably one of the best drivers ever in Formula 1, in the history of F1. I never raced against him until I was in F1, but I was always in the category below. In karting, I already knew him reasonably well," Norris began.
Norris praises Verstappen
According to Norris, Verstappen's success is not just down to the good car. "I've been able to witness what he's doing and I think it's not just that he's in a good car and he's able to perform. I think no matter what car he's in, he'll be able to perform at a similar level, maybe with different results, but still at a similar level."
"I think at some point it would be great to work alongside someone like that and at the same time see where I can really stand against him. I'd be open for it. I invited him to McLaren the other day, so if he wants to come any time, he's very welcome," Norris concluded.
