Perez on Red Bull seat next to Verstappen: 'No change needed'
- Toby McLuskie
Sergio Perez's contract at Red Bull Racing lasts for another year and a half, but due to disappointing performances, rumours abound that the Mexican will be replaced. Verstappen drives the stars from heaven, but Perez has a bit more trouble with that. The driver from Guadalajara does not really think a change in the driver line-up is necessary, he reveals.
"From my side, there's still a year and a half to go so I think there's no need to change anything," Perez revealed. "It's more important now to focus on the races ahead and finish the season on a high and then we will start discussing the plan to go forward in early next year," said Verstappen's teammate.
Leclerc on his contract at Ferrari
Charles Leclerc was also asked a question about his contractual status: "We are in quite a difficult situation at the moment and the priority is to first focus on the job we've got to do with the car because we are quite far from the Red Bull," the Monegasque stated.
"I think I've made clear quite a few times what my intentions are for the future. My dream has always been to be a Ferrari driver and I would love to be winning a World Championship with them. I'm not too worried about when the discussions will start. I've still got a year and a half of contract for now so I'm not in a rush," Leclerc concluded.
