Alonso wanted to win title with Ferrari: 'With McLaren not deserved'

Fernando made a great transfer to Aston Martin, finishing on the podium in no fewer than seven out of 14 races in the 2023 F1 season. The Spaniard thinks he can move even further forward with Aston Martin and looks back at other moments in his long F1 career where he was close to the title.
It has been seven hits for Alonso in 2023, but it has yet to come to an F1 victory. Talking to Telegraph, Alonso therefore says he can only get his 33rd F1 win if Max Verstappen and Red Bull Racing make a mistake. That chance seems slim, so Aston Martin itself must make the move. Alonso: "But we did one last winter. I have a lot of trust in this project."
'Prefer title at Ferrari to McLaren'
When Alonso is asked which time in his career he would go back to if he could turn back time, he would want to go back to his time at Ferrari. Indeed, the Spaniard would have loved to have won a third F1 title at the Scuderia. Alonso: “I mean if I could change one thing in my career it would be that," If Alonso had to choose between Ferrari and McLaren, it is the former.
Alonso: "At McLaren we were also very close. Only one point. But probably we didn’t deserve it by, you know, the way we handled things. But in Ferrari, I felt that we did things quite right. We were fighting maybe with an inferior car until the end. So if I could change one thing in my career, I will probably change that."
