Norris keeps Red Bull door open: 'Don't owe McLaren my life'
- Cas van de Kleut
Over the past few weeks, the rumours surrounding Lando Norris' future have been rising. The young Briton is in his fifth season as a Formula 1 driver, has seven podiums with the McLaren team, and there is no denying that he is a talented driver. Yet he has not yet managed to win a race. Norris told Racefans.net that he definitely thinks about a win from time to time.
"It’s not something that plays on my mind or gets me worried or anything like that. I just know when the time comes, it comes," Norris stated. "Until then, I just do the best job I can with what I got. I think I’ve learned that well enough over the last five years. Every category I’ve done into Formula 1, I’ve had a chance to win and have been able to win. Formula 1 is the first time you have to come in and kind of reset that thought and the expectation of it."
Will Norris make move to Red Bull?
Despite McLaren having made a huge stride since this year's Silverstone race, they are unlikely to be able to beat Red Bull. And let it be top Red Bull Racing advisor Helmut Marko who spoke out about a possible future for Norris at the Austrian racing stable.
Accordingly, Norris says: "I owe McLaren a lot, but I don’t owe them my life. Obviously there’s always been things going on and there’s been chats in the past and things like that – like there is with every driver, any time a contract comes to an end."
