Verstappen on his sister: 'She probably had as much talent as me'

Max Verstappen is only 25 years old, but he is already one of the greatest drivers in Formula 1 ever. Partly due to the tough but effective upbringing of his father and former Formula 1 driver, Jos Verstappen, the Dutchman got to where he is today. Max's sister, Victoria, was also very talented when it came to racing. In an interview with Racefans.net, the Red Bull driver even says he thinks his sister was as talented as he is.
Victoria herself is now a mother of two, and she has her own clothing brand. The Dutchwoman has also raced herself. In karting, for instance, she once won a hundred-mile race in Genk.
As talented as Max Verstappen?
That she has the racing genes in her blood is not surprising. After all, she is the daughter of Jos Verstappen, but her mother, Sophie Kumpen, was also successful in karting. According to Max, his sister was therefore very talented: "I think my sister probably had the same amount of talent as I had when I was little, but she just didn’t want it enough. She liked it but not enough to, like, fight for it, be fit, be ready."
The Red Bull driver then gives an example of Victoria not wanting it badly enough: "There were a few instances where my dad would spend two days preparing everything like he would do with me, making sure everything was perfect for her to drive. Then she would drive for like 20 laps, and then she’s like ‘that’s it for me for today’. And then my dad would get quite annoyed."
