Red Bull reacts to Marko's comments on Perez for the first time
Red Bull advisor Helmut Marko's statements about driver Sergio Perez have been the leading Formula 1 news story in recent days. He said the Mexican was not focused well enough and that it might then be because of his South American temperament. Pretty strange, given that Mexico is in North America. Marko apologised earlier in the week.
Red Bull Racing on Marko's statements regarding Perez
The Austrian racing team reported that they do not support Marko's statements. Red Bull Racing have told Sky Sports News they do not condone Marko's comments and that, as a team, they are emphatic that there is no place for racism or xenophobia in racing or society as a whole.
Earlier, Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton made strong statements about what Marko had to say about the Mexican Red Bull driver. Among other things, he called the statements of the 80-year-old Austrian from Graz completely unacceptable and felt that more should be done about this within the sport.
