Verstappen clearly dissatisfied: 'We are way worse than expected'
Red Bull Racing faces a long Friday night, as was evident after the second free practice session for the Singapore Grand Prix. Both Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez were searching for performance all day, and Verstappen was clearly not happy with how the first two practice sessions went.
Verstappen indicated ahead of the Formula 1 weekend that he expected Red Bull to be less competitive than in other races this season, but his statements were taken with a pinch of salt by many. Yet on Friday night, there seems to be truth in the Dutchman's statements, who admitted that he too was surprised by Red Bull's poor form.
Verstappen heavily dissatisfied
"It was unexpected today. Just struggling a lot with the balance of the car. We tried quite a few things in FP2. Some worked, some didn't. Never really got the car together. So it's quite a few things to figure out for tonight, basically," Verstappen sounds critical.
Asked if he does expect to fight for pole, Verstappen said: "I will try to, of course, improve it. It's quite a big gap. Ferrari is very fast. I think we're just way worse than we expected."
