Red Bull's poor qualifying fell heavily on team advisor Helmut Marko. The Austrians' victory lap seems to be coming to an end in Singapore. A hard sell for the team, Marko told Auto, Motor, und Sport.

Marko does not think anything special can be expected from Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez during the race. The team cannot find a solution to the problems with the setup until it is clear how things work. In addition, due to parce fermé rules, few adjustments can be made to the cars.

Painful day for Red Bull

So there is a very real possibility that Red Bull will not win the Grand Prix for the first time this season. Within the garages of the racing stable, the dream of an insane record: winning all Grands Prix in one season was slowly but surely being realised. That wish now seems to be binned, Marko agrees. "It had to come to an end some day. But it does hurt, because we just don't understand why we are struggling here."

The new floor brought by Red Bull did not seem to bear fruit. However, the introduction had nothing to do with the FIA's new technical regulations, which now completely ban flexible parts. "No, this update had been in the pipeline for some time. It should give us more downforce," Marko explained.
