Ecclestone: 'Verstappen is the best driver ever, no doubt'

Bernie Ecclestone has often been in the news in recent months regarding the battle for the 2008 world title. However, the former F1 boss is now in the news because of his words of praise for Max Verstappen. Indeed, Ecclestone claims that the Dutchman is the best Formula 1 driver ever.
Ecclestone finds Verstappen the best
According to many, the battle between the best F1 driver ever is mainly between Michael Schumacher and Lewis Hamilton. Max Verstappen's name is often not mentioned in this (yet), but Ecclestone clearly thinks otherwise. "Max is the best driver ever. No doubts. I used to say Alain Prost. Now I would say Max. He’s the greatest," Ecclestone told the Daily Mail.
Verstappen is enjoying an impressive season this year with a slew of wins, even 10 in a row, and that while teammate Sergio Perez is regularly struggling with Red Bull Racing's RB19. "He [Verstappen] is brightest with regards to getting the best out of the car. He doesn’t muck around. He gets right on the programme. In my list he is above Lewis Hamilton."
Verstappen different from Hamilton
According to the Briton, Verstappen and Hamilton both achieve their impressive performances differently. "Lewis is obviously super-super bright, super-super talented. Lewis understands people and gets the best out of them, whereas Max gets the best out of the car. He’s very different from Max. When Lewis stops racing, he can get into a different world — entertainment or whatever — but that won’t be the way Max could go."
