Verstappen downplays Marko's quotes: 'That's Red Bull's last concern'
Red Bull Racing's constructors' championship was sealed mainly by Max Verstappen in Japan. The Dutchman managed to make Red Bull champion with a 26-point race. Reacting to the championship himself, he also looked ahead to his possible world title, which he can secure in Qatar.
"We have of course had an incredible season so far. It's very special to win that title so early of course," Verstappen told Viaplay after winning the constructors' championship. "I'm very happy that we were able to win it here in Japan," Verstappen, referring to the relationship with Honda, revealed.
Verstappen on Drivers' World Title
"Start was close for a while, but then we ran out every lap and it actually just went really well," Verstappen explained. The Dutchman can finally become three-time world champion in a fortnight in Qatar. Nobody actually doubts the 25-year-old driver's possible title.
"On Saturday you can drink [in the evening], right? Then it can be celebrated again [on Sunday]," Verstappen told reporters after the race at Suzuka. Helmut Marko already told him it would be an expensive joke with alcohol in Qatar. Verstappen thinks it won't be too bad: "I think that's Red Bull's last concern".
