'Ferrari car for 2024 almost ready for first tests already'
Ferrari has regressed this season compared to last year. The Italian team were often able to compete for wins in 2022, but this season has had little success. They did manage to pull off one win, which Carlos Sainz did in Singapore for Ferrari. Meanwhile, development of the current SF-23 has already stopped, and development of its next car is even said to be ahead of schedule.
Ferrari car to be vastly improved in 2023
This season, Ferrari did not get off to a great start. After taking a big step forward in the 2022 season, where after two years (2020 and 2021), it was finally able to fight for victory multiple times again, it was hoped that this season the Prancing Horse could take the next step. After 16 races in 2023, it seems that didn't happen, but during the season, Ferrari did make a lot of strides.
Indeed, at the beginning of the season, Ferrari struggled with tyre wear and the unpredictability of the car. The SF-23 went through tyres quickly compared to their rivals. However, since the Monza Grand Prix, all these problems seem to have been solved. Even in the 'double header', GP Singapore and GP Japan, after Ferrari's home Grand Prix, the Italian team performed well. They even won in Singapore and in Japan, a circuit known for high tyre wear, and Ferrari seemed to handle the tyres just fine.
'Ferrari 2024 car ahead of schedule'
According to Italian medium F1ingenerale.com, the 'project 676' is even ahead of schedule. The project surrounding Ferrari's 2024 car is also called that. According to the medium, Ferrari's next battle weapon is already almost fully assembled and just about ready for the first tests. The wind tunnel will also be used by Ferrari for Project 676 only, thus ending the development of the SF-23.
