Norris behind Verstappen and Piastri: 'Maybe toughest race ever'

This edition of the Qatar Grand Prix was Max Verstappen's race, but behind the Dutchman, things were exciting, as at the first corner, Lewis Hamilton and George Russell ran each other off the track. The latter was able to continue, but the seven-time world champion could not continue. This was the perfect opportunity for Lando Norris to join the podium.

"Just a mega race from start to finish," Lando Norris told reporters after the Qatari Grand Prix. "A good opening lap. I learnt from my mistake yesterday of going wide. Good start and good pace throughout the race. Probably the best pace today. I am satisfied. It was exciting, and it was hot. I'm sweaty and a bit tired."

The Briton finished behind teammate Oscar Piastri as he was unable to overtake him on the last lap. The driver, with number four on the car, was only a second behind his Australian teammate. Despite not finishing second like his teammate, but third, Norris is very happy with the podium finish.

"Good work by the team. Three in a row now. Another 1.8-second pit stop by the boys, too! The three stops made it a lot tougher physically. You could push a lot more. It was probably one of the hardest races I've ever driven. It's a nice challenge. Congratulations to Oscar, no mistakes, and of course again [congratulations] to Max," the McLaren driver informed.
