Debate | Conditions make Qatar GP unsuitable for F1 calendar
- GPblog.com
The Qatar Grand Prix was very tough for Formula 1 drivers. With temperatures well above 30 degrees, the race, which Max Verstappen eventually won, was run. The question is whether the conditions of the Qatar Grand Prix, despite the race being held in December next year, make it unsuitable for on the F1 calendar. GPblog is curious to hear readers' opinions.
Drivers suffering in the car
The statement reads as follows: Conditions make the Qatar GP unsuitable for the F1 calendar. Williams driver Logan Sargeant dropped out on lap 40 of the race as he fell ill. He and Lance Stroll struggled to get out of the car after their race. The Aston Martin Canadian also said he was experiencing blackouts. Esteban Ocon also struggled, as he had to vomit into his helmet already during the race.
During the race, Fernando Alonso already reported that his seat was getting incredibly hot. From footage from the cooldown room, it also became clear quite quickly that it was enormously tough for the drivers. Verstappen and McLaren driver Oscar Piastri were also devastated, being found on the ground in the cooldown room. Let your opinion be known in the comments, and vote in the poll below!
