The media have been full of rumours over the past week about an internal power struggle allegedly going on within the Red Bull Racing team. Max Verstappen spoke out clearly on the issue ahead of the US Grand Prix: 'Bullsh*t!'

A year after the death of Red Bull co-founder Dietrich Mateschitz, a real power struggle is said to be taking place within the Formula 1 team. Christian Horner reportedly wants to oust Helmut Marko in order to take the reins himself. Both Marko and Horner strongly denied the rumours, with the latter stressing his loyalty to the 80-year-old advisor.

In Austin, Verstappen was also confronted with the rumours, which he quickly gave short shrift to. "I saw that from the outside, people were trying to basically talk some BS because I think the mood in the team is very good. Everyone knows exactly what their role is," the three-time world champion began.

"Of course, sad times last year when Dietrich [Mateschitz] passed away. But we try to keep that legacy, keep moving it forward and everyone that we have right now in the team is very important to the success that we are having. So that's why there are also no changes for the future. I think that basically explains it," Verstappen added.

Sky Sports wonders what effect it would have on Verstappen if either Marko or Horner left Red Bull since both team members have played such a big role in his career. "Everyone's staying in exactly the same role. That has never really been a discussion. I think it's very important that when you're doing really well, and the team is doing very well, you keep those people who are very important to the success of the team. Everyone knows that. From our side, it's always been super clear."
