Russell receives grid penalty and starts sprint race from outside top-ten
George Russell has been given a three-place grid penalty by the stewards for the sprint race in the United States. The Mercedes driver obstructed Charles Leclerc in the sprint shootout and will now be penalised for that.
Russell drove the eighth fastest time in sprint qualifying, but will therefore now have to start the 19-lap race from P11. Alexander Albon, Pierre Gasly and Daniel Ricciardo benefit and move up one place.
