Red bull junior team hauger leaves team helmut marko

Red Bull will lose another junior for 2024: vacancy looms for Marko

22 October 2023 at 18:43

Dennis Hauger will no longer be part of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2024. The Norwegian himself revealed this in a post on Instagram. Under Red Bull's wings, the talented driver won the Formula 3 championship.

The 20-year-old Hauger was considered one of the great young talents for years. Not surprisingly, the Norwegian was included in Helmut Marko's junior programme back in 2017, and it paid off. For instance, Hauger won the prestigious Italian Formula 4 championship in 2019 and took the title in his second Formula 3 championship in 2021.

Red Bull lets juniors go

An F3 champion, Hauger made the switch to Formula 2 in 2022. Hauger remained active for Italian Prema, winning two races. Nevertheless, a lack of consistency meant he remained in 10th place in the standings. In 2023, the championship was logically the goal, but Hauger is tenth in the championship with one race weekend to go. With his new team, MP Motorsport, Hauger won two races.

On Instagram, Hauger revealed that he will no longer be part of the Red Bull Junior Team in 2024: "For the 2024 season, I'll be parting ways with the Red Bull Junior Team. I'm grateful for their support over the years and ready to explore new opportunities ahead. Next year I will be back in Formula 2 with one clear goal in mind: the championship."

So Hauger will no longer be part of the Red Bull Junior Team but will remain active in F2. Whether that will be with MP Motorsport is not clear at the moment.
