Verstappen wants FIA clarity on track limits: 'Keep talking'
- Ludo van Denderen
Sergio Perez seems to have been pretty lucky, it became clear on Thursday. The Mexican appears to have exceeded track limits more often than allowed at the US Grand Prix. Max Verstappen seemed to have little to no trouble with the white lines in the US last weekend during the race.
According to the Dutchman, it is not always difficult to see where the track ends. "I do think that the kerbs are a bit more easy to judge in general, especially in the very fast corners. In the very low speed, I think the white line hasn't been a massive issue but in some corners judging on such a small white line is tough and yesterday, of course, it caught me out," Verstappen said.
FIA must take action
With so many drivers in the US complaining about track limits, Verstappen does urge the FIA to make improvements. "I do feel that we need to come up with something different because it is tricky. You don't make these kinds of mistakes, of course, on purpose. I think today with that double, kind of, white line, that already helped a bit, but we'll keep talking to the FIA to see what we can do," said the three-time champion.
No track limit problems are expected in Mexico this weekend. No doubt to the relief of a lot of drivers.
