What was Hamilton's situation?
The seven-time world champion was also cleared of his incident. Hamilton and Logan Sargeant allegedly did not brake enough during the yellow flags. The Williams driver overtook the AlphaTauri of Yuki Tsunoda. This meant a places grid penalty and two penalty points for him.
For the Brit: no further action will be taken. The stewards have reviewed the Mercedes driver's onboard, assessing that no further action needs to be taken. The incident took place in the first two corners of the circuit.
Stewards' verdict on Hamilton incident
"The driver was slightly slower in the mini sector than on his previous push lap. Our determination is that there was no breach of the regulations," the stewards ruled. So the difference with Sargeant is that the American also overtook another driver during the yellow flags.
