Verstappen heads to Brazil with confidence: 'On to number 17!'
Max Verstappen won the first two Grands Prix in the triple header consisting of the United States GP, Mexico GP and Brazil GP. He is determined to win the latter as well. The Red Bull Racing driver looks ahead.
Verstappen puts focus directly on victory number 17
Verstappen is brimming with confidence after taking his 16th win of the season in Mexico. The Dutchman broke the record for most F1 wins in a single season and, with three races to go in 2023, does not seem to be done yet. Brazil is his first moment to extend the record, and beforehand the Dutchman is positive.
Verstappen: "Looking ahead to Brazil, it’s the final race of a triple header and the last Sprint race of the season. Coming off of a good race in Mexico, we are confident going into this weekend but need to keep our focus. It’s crazy to have achieved 16 wins so far this season, after last year I didn’t think it would be possible to replicate that, so it just shows what an amazing season we’re having."
While Verstappen pauses to reflect on the 16 wins of 2023, he is already thinking about the next one. Verstappen: "I am appreciative of all of the hard work and effort everyone in the Team is putting in, I’m glad we can show that on track. Now the focus is on the 17th win!"
