Ferrari men Sainz, Leclerc and Vasseur expect 'crazy atmosphere' in Vegas
- Toby McLuskie
Ferrari currently finds itself in third place in the constructors' championship. With only a few races left on the calendar, time is running out for the Italian Scuderia, which is all too keen to beat Mercedes for second place. The Las Vegas Grand Prix is just around the corner, which of course offers another chance for Carlos Sainz and Charles Leclerc to get more points than Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
Sainz and Leclerc are ready for it
Sainz looks ahead to a weekend full of glitz and glamour off the track. "I’ve never been to Vegas, but I’ve always wanted to be in Vegas. I don’t know what to expect to be honest apart from what I’ve seen from people that have been there or whatever, but I think it’s going to be a great weekend for F1," the Ferrari Spaniard says.
Unlike his Spanish teammate, the Monegasque Leclerc has been to the city in the Mojave Desert before. " I have been to Vegas, I expect it to be so crazy, I’m pretty sure that there will be a crazy atmosphere as it always is in the US but probably even more so for this race," the Ferrari number-sixteen driver reveals.
Vasseur: 'Good result within reach'
Not only are the drivers eager, but the team boss of the Italian team, Frederic Vasseur is positive about the upcoming weekend in Nevada.
"Charles is always very quick on this type of track where you have to run close to the barriers and, in Singapore, Carlos showed he is no less adept in this discipline. We are confident that we can be on the pace and if we give the drivers everything they need, then a good result is within our grasp," he informed.
