LIVE | Second free practice for the F1 Grand Prix of Las Vegas
After an extravagant opening ceremony, it was finally time for action on the track in Las Vegas on Friday morning in Europe, or Thursday night in America. That action was short-lived, however, as a water drain cover came loose. Esteban Ocon and especially Carlos Sainz bore the brunt and suffered extensive damage. After a long red flag, the session was eventually cancelled altogether as all pits had to be checked.
A few hours later, the teams and drivers can still drive during the second free practice session. They will need those metres as it is a completely new circuit. Ocon and Sainz are unlikely to be back in action. Follow all the action on and off the track in Vegas with this liveblog.
